About Cold tea

07/02/2018 23:17 (in bed following the 3rd night feed)

On 9th September 2017 I gave birth to my baby boy, Leo. My world turned upside down and I started to experience joy like never before. And tiredness like never before. And pooh like never before. You get my drift. Everything changed overnight. So after a number of episodes of pure wonder / total dismay / tears of joy / the whole of the NHS inspecting my vagina  / 4,862 crumpets / 83 cups of cold tea I decided I wanted to try and capture some of my experiences and try to put them into words. Firstly for my own sanity, and for future reference (amusement purposes), but also to share with others facing similar joys and challenges as new Mum’s –  in the hope that it might give them some small comfort or light relief! After writing a few chapters as notes on my phone, I’ve confided in a few lovely friends who have given me the encouragement to share them with the world. So I’ve decided to set up this blog. And if this blog makes just one person laugh then it has fulfilled it’s purpose! So please do share 🙂

Ok for those of you who don’t know me, here’s a little bit about me;

I’m Lisa-Claire, aka Leo’s Mum / Lisa / LC and to a special few ‘Lise’. My beautiful baby boy, Leo, was born in September 2017, a week after my 32nd birthday. Up until this point I have been pretty career focused since University and have enjoyed taking steps up the career ladder in a variety of different organisations – I’ve met some brilliant people along the way and been involved in some fantastic projects. I’m one of those from the underground community ‘divorced before thirty’ (there are more of us than you realise!) which has given me a wealth of experience and strength. I was diagnosed with PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) aged 19 and have been battling it since then in so many ways, including suffering infertility and some surgery when it all went very wrong years ago. I love to travel, but most of all I love home – I have a wonderful network of friends and family here.  My partner Russell and I have now been together four years and go from strength to strength each day.  Since meeting him it has confirmed to me that opposites really do attract! Not so long ago we bought a run down house with lots of potential in a lovely area. To be more specific I mean we moved in 4 weeks before I conceived Leo, yup, we had no idea our little miracle would be with us so soon!

Anyhow that’s enough about me. Before you read any of my chapters I just want to say please take what I share with a pinch of salt – it is here to be enjoyed and hopefully to encourage a smile (or ideally a belly laugh!) – I have no intention of offending anyone so if you don’t have a sense of humour then please stop reading now, (I think that would be safest) Also if you read this and I have quoted you then thank you in advance, I will of course keep your contribution anonymous unless you wish to claim your fame please feel free to do so in the comments! These random chapters of thoughts are from my own perspective, about some of the situations I have observed and experienced so far on my wildly exhausting and amazing journey as a Mum.

Thanks for joining me this far….

Love LC x
